They could be broken down into progressive difficulty:
Start with the major directions: 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock
Lead directions that require higher precision, e.g. 11 o'clock
Lead direction changes that are very close, e.g. 10 o'clock to 11 o'clock.
"Explain clock face: follower’s standing leg (left leg) is center" It might make sense to put this as a second sentence into the description.
