Look into a python library for implementing machine-readable and human-readable logging output for libfulltext.

logging is quite good apparently. Not sure if it has everything we need.

Do we have a list of "everything we need"?

association which module/class/function issued which message?
which files were created (in a way that we can pass the list of files on to some other tool)
which identifiers (dois) failed (in a way that they can be retried)
