mine similar,

Admin:w3af admin$ pip --version
pip 19.3.1 from /Users/admin/Library/Python/2.7/lib/python/site-packages/pip (python 2.7)

i follow the recommendation when i ran w3af_console, to install some dependency then i got an error when installing nltk:

Admin:w3af admin$ pip install nltk
DEPRECATION: Python 2.7 will reach the end of its life on January 1st, 2020. Please upgrade your Python as Python 2.7 won't be maintained after that date.
