How can I test this project? #1

Hi !

First of all, I'm impressed with this project. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have knowledge of embedded circuit design, firmware programming, simple artwork design for PCB. So, I would like to build this project and run it in my environment.

So, I would like you to ask a question, how are you testing this project? Probably I can build this project, but its installation is so complex and hard for me. Do I have to take out the audio deck every time? Please let me know if there is a simple test method. My car is Mazda RX-8 (2004).

thank you.

I own a 2006 RX-8, but have two spare radios from the cars that I've setup on my bench. In order to connect it you currently need a connector taken from an old radio that connects the main circuit board to the CD changer. If you have that you just solder it to the board and it should be plug and play, other than soldering the components to the board. No modification should be necessary to the car, but I think to install it you'll need to remove the radio from the car. I haven't really tested this, but I've had very basic functions working on the bench. At the moment I've got Uni exams so this project has taken a bit of a back burner, but I'll see about adding some photos of the connector to the project in the next couple days. If you don't have or don't want to remove a connector from an old radio, you can always solder the wires directly to the connector like NikoSapi did in his implementation.

Thank you. I'll try it.

I'm sure I'll have questions about the test, so I'll leave this issue open. note that.
