I am definitely interested in adding this to bupstash, though its not my highest priority just yet.

Yeah, I understand that you have other priorities right now. But since this would benefit myself, like alot I'd offer something like $1000 (from my personal savings, I know this isn't much) in order for you to make a schedule for it ;)

I am considering, but no promise or commitment yet, still got quite a lot of stuff to work on in parallel.

Sure. Ping me when you're getting some time. My needs are straightforward:

Have a native bupstash client binary for Windows
Let bupstash use VSS snapshots so it can backup open files
Option to follow / not sparsepoints (would be a nice to have)

I can glue / script everything else togheter (windows installer / automatic backups schedule / timer backups...) so bupstash becomes the ultimate backup tool for me ;)
