Still writing tests etc. But it is likely mostly there

Apart from those questions it looks good to go. I will take a look at merging tomorrow (1AM here :-) ) I may need to rebase it first, but small changes. thanks!

I'm not sure (yet) how to push small changes into a PR from a forked repo - so I'll just merge your PR then rebase and do a tiny PR with some related docs changes.

I'll push a new minor version to crates.io tomorrow.

BTW: would you want/like/mind being included in a list of contributors to the project?
