Gadget should handle errors gracefully #11

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Cause the gadget to encounter an error - for example, in v0.9.3 or
prior, drag a folder that contains a folder whose name ends in ".zip".
2. The gadget hangs in the "processing" state forever

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Gadget should indicate that an error has occurred and provide some context,
and should not stay in "processing" mode.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
