10k elevation? #2

Hi guys. Awesome project! I read somewhere there was an open 10k res DEM. Do you happen to have this available too?

I just tried to upload it, but it is too big for GitHub. Or at least for my free account. I will try adding it to my Keybase public folder and link that here.

Totally impressed with the detail in this project! I'm also looking for either a DEM or full contours (including mountain peaks which I can't see in Contours 18) for a CNC project for my daughter. Is there something I'm missing, or could these be added?

There's a 10k x 10k DEM here - https://github.com/bburns/arda - will merge that into this project.

@bburns I was planning a big personal project (3D-print the map and use it in my living room glass display table), using the mentioned 10k DEM. But I just noticed there are some problems in the image. The attached image is a part right in the middle of the 10k image, in the Misty Mountains. I wonder if there is a better image somewhere or if there's a possibility to create an image without these errors... I really hope there is, because there's nothing which is anywhere near as precisely as this image. Map Problems

That sounds like a really cool project. The DEM was built from a bunch of tiles, so you are seeing errors at the tile seams. I don't know how to fix them. But someone else might.

Yeah, if you can track down the original authors maybe they have a better version?

But it's a 4mb b&w jpeg file - if your computer can handle it you you could try to smudge those seams away manually with GIMP or Photoshop?
