Nearly impossible to revert from full screen on Samsung S10 #171

After activiting full screen mode via the hamburger menu (≡) in the lower-right corner, or by inadvertedly holding the finger on the hamburger menu, there's no easy way to revert from full screen mode when the device is in portrait orientation.

One can hold the finger on the map to try reactivate the Trekarta menu at the bottom of the screen, but the annoying part is that the Android buttons (while transparent) appear to be on top of that Trekarta menu and covering their accessibility. When I try to tap on the hamburger menu in the lower right corner, it always activates my Android back button (<) instead.

Trekarta-Android-buttons

The only workaround I found so far (besides uninstalling the app) is to first deactivate Android orientation locking, then rotate the device, and then tap on the Trekarta hamburger menu to uncheck full screen mode.

I think there should be a straightforward way to deal with this in portrait orientation as well.

Device info: Samsung S10, Android-version 11, One UI-version 3.1.

I have found myself in the same pickle multiple times.

Solution suggestion: In the menu shown in the screenshot add an entry "Toggle Fullscreen"

Same thing here on the Pixel 5 - I wanted to add an additional note: If there is a gestures based nav - the whole menu bar is hidden below the screen.

Same issue for me, on a Pixel 4a running GrapheneOS. As for @mattnds the menu bar is hidden. The only solution I found was re-installing trekarta (and re-loading the maps). Thus, +1 for @SokoFromNZ's suggestion!

Yeah, this is big issue also for me..

Maybe author could add setting option to prevent going (disable) to full screen mode (including, removing it from menu bar)
