Recording in background stops when the app is closed

This is happening since latest release (22 march 2024).

Usually once started the track recording goes on by its own even if the app is closed. Then once the app is reopened the track recording can be stopped and the track is saved.

Apparently nothing changed,

• you can see the recording is active when the app is closed
• you can see the track being recorded once you reopen the app

but the track is not actually being updated when the app is closed (I closed the app half way on my hike and when I saved the track at the end only half of the hike had been recorded)

I'm using a Samsung A41 and android 12.
