Exhaustive list of i3 Plus clones #188

Today, there are many different clones of the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus, with small differences. In order to better support them in ADVi3++, I am trying to get an exhausitve list of these clones. So far, I have:

Name Model # Motherboard Country Hardware differences
Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus Bi3Plus 5.1 CN Original printer
Monoprice Maker Select Plus 15711 5.1 US Exact clone of i3 Plus
Monoprice Maker Select Plus "Euro" 21871 5.1 DE Exact clone of i3 Plus
Monoprice Maker Select Plus "UK" 24165 5.1 UK Exact clone of i3 Plus
Aldi Cocoon Create Touch HE161192 5.1 AU Exact clone of i3 Plus
Aldi Balco 3D Touchscreen ? 5.1 UK No USB plug
Microcenter PowerSpec WanHao Duplicator I3 PLUS 422204 5.1 USA Exact clone of i3 Plus
Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus Mark II wanhao.i3.plus.Mk2 5.4 CN ABL, magnetic bed, power-loss recovery
Aldi Balco 3D Printer HE180021 5.2C UK Between Mark I and Mark II, z-endtop = 6
Aldi Balco 3D Printer 12/2019 HE180021 5.1 Belgium Exact clone of i3 Plus

Yes, there is two different models of printers with the name name and the same Model number (Aldi Balco 3D Printer | HE180021) but with different motherboards. Go figure...

If you are aware of another model (still based on the i3 PLUS), or if you know another model number, please add it in a comment.

Thanks

I see you have for the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus a ? for the model. On my printer is saying model Bi3Plus

andrivet commented 5 years ago

@cobramike Thank, that's the model. I was not able to remember.

wood2dust commented 5 years ago

I can confirm that the model number is correct for the latest ALDI BALCO printer, what I am unsure of is can I flash this model with your firmware or will it brick it!, I am new to this 3d printing and only received my printer over xmas. Thanks

@andrivet I was able to persuade Wanhao support team to publish the latest source code for i3 Plus Mark II: https://github.com/extesy/i3plus-MK2. Please take a look, maybe it will help you with implementing missing features like #205.

andrivet commented 5 years ago

@extesy Great. I will look at it.

I have a 2018 Aldi Balco 3D Touch. The model number on the back is HE180021, but it definitely has a v5.1 motherboard

Uncle-Paul commented 4 years ago

That's odd Richard - I have a 2018 HE180021 and my mainboard is v5.2c

Richard, can you upload a photo of the label on the back of the printer please?

andrivet commented 4 years ago

@RichardPilbery Can you upload a picture of the back of your printer so I can compare it with the image above?

RichardPilbery commented 4 years ago

IMG_3408 It's actually dated as a 2017 model, which might explain the difference

andrivet commented 4 years ago

Probably, but two different printers with the same model number, version number, etc.
