The app regularly has to be forcefully exited & rebooted for Rich Presence to function as intended #32

I really love the app and there appears to be nothing quite like it on the web, but unfortunately it just doesn't work reliably as it should. Often the app is running in the taskbar tray, and the Rich Presence functionality just doesn't work properly. I have to manually close it and run it again.

I understand that the app was still being worked on so it's okay with me for now -- if the dev or other knowledgeable programmer around is still here to assist/hopefully fix whatever the bug is, that'd be fantastic!

Edit: it also opens up the directory folder where it's stored rather than actually booting at launch.

Heya, I'm the only dev working on this. I took a break from it to focus on other projects, but I also noticed it has been very unreliable for the past few months, even though I didn't change anything in the code.

I think I'll get back to this today and try to get this project to a 1.0 version. I can't promise anything, but we'll see. I'd definitely love to have some help developing as I'm pretty busy lately and as I said, I have other projects which atm I'm more interested in working.

Understood! Thanks for the reply and I want to say thanks for making it too.

@PigDan20 No worries, you're welcome! Also, could you upload your log files as a zip? If you need some help, follow these instructions:

  1. Right-click the Discord.fm tray icon and click "Open Settings"
  2. Click the "Open logs folder" button
  3. When the file explorer window opens, select all the files in the folder by pressing Ctrl + A
  4. Right click any of the files
  5. Depending on your Windows version, do the following: On Windows 10:
    • Under the "Send to" menu, click on "Compressed (zipped) folder" On Windows 11:
    • Click on "Compress to Zip file"
  6. A new file will be created and a name will be prompted. Name it "logs" (or whatever descriptive name you'd like).
  7. Drag and drop the zip file on the attachments area to upload it.

Since ver 0.8.2 I fixed quite a few bugs that caused issues like this, plus no more info was provided. Closed for now.
