Requirements
People Management Responsibilities:
Develop, inspire, mentor, and evaluate the team members
Meet regularly 1:1 with team members (ideally every two weeks, at least once a month)
Align team with the company’s needs and vision
Facilitate performance reviews and career planning, while encouraging members to take responsibility for their own development
Ensure continuous learning based on feedback, taking into account the different backgrounds of people across cultures and geographies
Coach individual members, both regarding technical skills and behavioural aspects
Work with the People Operations Team team to attract, onboard and retain diverse top talent
Technical/Project Responsibilities:
Assist on project kickoff and team on-boarding (led by project managers)
Review and guide project technical architecture and ensure conformance to Android development best practices
Meet with internal project stakeholders to evaluate and improve team's value delivery
Identify and fulfill knowledge gaps within the project teams ensuring they’re properly staffed
Work closely with project managers, product managers and other leaders ensuring teams are delivering the highest quality work to our clients
Ocasional hands-on contribution to projects
Knowledge Sharing Responsibilities:
Be up to date on the latest and newest technical and experience approaches, APIs and guidelines
Identify, assess, train and implement emerging technology trends and best practices
Disseminate and train people across different functional areas on technology and process best practices
Facilitate and organize internal and external training and community events
Promote internal knowledge sharing, collaboration and agile mindset
Sales/Staffing Responsibilities:
Support sales related activities like discovery calls, project estimates and proposals
Be the go to person for questions about the technical area, company and team capabilities
Expected Deliverables/Success Metrics:
Improve team engagement and satisfaction
Increase client (internal and external) satisfaction
Improve quantitative and qualitative metrics of teams and individuals
Who you are:
You have a positive can-do mindset
You are enthusiastic about technology and the impact it has in creating great products
Minimum of 5 years software engineering experience with a minimum of 3 year in mobile (Android) development
Solid understanding of the Android SDK
Advanced object-oriented programming and knowledge of design patterns
Experience with Agile, Test Driven, or Behavior Driven Development
You thrive when developing great people, not just great products
You are passionate about leading, coaching and mentoring software development teams
You are either an experienced manager or a top-level individual contributor looking to make a move to team leadership
