With a headcount of 100+ people across the company (Brazil and Netherlands) and still growing the tech & product team in Amsterdam, we would like to add an Android Developer to the team to work on exciting new features for the mobile application.

Our why

In Brazil, and many other countries for that matter, 90% of the population use gas cylinders to provide their homes with gas for cooking, but these need to be replaced every few weeks. We provide a solution which aims to empower all Brazilians by providing them with a mobile platform from which they can choose their preferred dealer based on price, quality or ETA.

The team

You will be part of the squad focused on Consumer experience, one of the multidisciplinary product teams that are developing in 2-week SCRUM sprints. The squad is currently working on exciting new features that will bring a lot of value. Pair-programming, discussions about architecture and patterns, testing and talks about new possible improvements are part of the squad’s everyday routine.

Your mission

Call it a mission, call it purpose, but the gas cylinders in Brazil (400 million per year) are of vital importance to all households and we know that our alternative could open up this market which is where we could use your mobile development skills:

• You have hands-on development skills and create clean, maintainable and reusable product-quality code;
• You deliver a great experience (UX/UI);
• You like to be actively involved in the design and implementation discussions;
• You are comfortable in a fast-paced technology scale-up where priorities can change and everything is up for discussion;
• You love to share knowledge and help other people;
• You are able to conceptualise, realise and deliver projects effectively, independently if required.

Your Skills & Experiences

• Strong knowledge of Kotlin;
• Architectural patterns such as MVC, MVP, MVVM, and MVI should be familiar to you;
• Hands-on experience with RxJava, understanding what Reactive programming is and the best practices around it;
• Capable to analyse and oversee complex flows and contribute to high-performance code;
• Experience with local data storage (eg. Room, SQLite);
• Experience with source control in GIT and branching strategies.

Bonus points if you have

• Hands-on experience with Espresso;
• Hands-on experience with Coroutines;
• Experience with other programming languages such as JavaScript, Swift, and Dart (Flutter);
• Open-source project.
