As mentioned on IRC I am very much in favor of this.
How to deal with multi-page schematics, and rats nests spanning multiple pages?
For hierarchical designs, I think that ratsnest lines could simply be drawn to the sheet symbol. For a flat design - and also for ratsnest lines going upward to a parent? - ratsnests could maybe be drawn to the relevant sheet in a sheet selector? I like the idea of having a list of sheets with thumbnails on the side the way multipage document viewers do.
Perhaps a good way would be to make nets that shoot outwards just go to a "bubble" that has the relevant net name (if any) and the page number where the other end can be found. Thumbnail idea is good too.
Make the netlist the master document during a session. Allow any View (program) in the suite alter the netlist and propagate changes to the others including the schematic.
