I think it would be useful to be able to support other Debian based distros, i.e. Ubuntu.

The Pull Request was closed, without merge! what happened to this idea? CMeza99 was the build working?

I closed it because it was very incomplete and requires a lot of changes. If there is interest, I can investigate a more elegant solution. Right now, I am using a very hacky fork to do Ubuntu.

I think this PR, #455, makes a solution to this issue easier to implement.
