Android AOSP keyboard suggestions don't work #546

When I tap the edit button and start typing, the Android keyboard seems to be missing its usual functionality.

E.g. in other apps, if I start typing a few letters, possible words appear in a bar above the onscteen keyboard. But this seems to be disabled when I'm composing something in AndStatus.

AndStatus 59.05 from F-Droid. LineageOS 18.1; updater says I have the October 7 version.

Hi @falsifian ,

  1. I use Gboard keyboard app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin ) and have word suggestions on Android 7 and Android 12 devices. Please try if Gboard gives suggestions in AndStatus on your device.

  2. What keyboard app (with a link, please) are you using that doesn't work properly in AndStatus?

Hi @yvolk,

I'm using the built-in keyboard from LineageOS. I think it is just the AOSP stock keyboard app. I don't have a link, unfortunately.

I just tried Gboard and it works fine in AndStatus. I also tried installing AnySoftKeyboard just now, and it works too in AndStatus. So maybe it is some quirk of the AOSP keyboard app.
