I try Open-in-vlc with R3dfox and it works with complex hls videosss !!!!!!!!!
i tried with many chroumium browsers and it doesn't work with my favourite streaming platform, but with firefox it works but we should'nt close firefox and the original page of video !!
I think many people like me doesn't know enough the grandeur and splendor of Open-in-vlc because many use chrmium browsers and ingorent firefox, I think it will be useful to mention in the main description page of Open-in-vlc that it is advisable to use firefox to avoid some bugs and blocking, thank you very much!
our dream now please is that Open-in vlc can open potlayer automatically, because we are forced to copy the stream link manually to put them in potplayer, thank you very much!
Hello, until now, I have only tried our beloved Open-in-vlc and preview video feature with vlc and potplayer of Cat-catch extension with chromium browsers because they are updated and compatible with my windows 7 32 bits, ok mozilla offered a firefox esr but based on an old version of firefox 115 so I have never tried Open-in-vlc in firefox esr because it is an old version of firefox and I like to use extensions with the latest version of the browser to avoid possible bugs....
But recently I found alhaldoulilAllah 2 forks of firefox and they use a recent version of firefox and compatible with my windows 7 32 bits !! :

so i was planning to try Open-in-vlc with r3dfox and luminafox browsers but i saw that the new magnificent updates : refererer and user string agent have not yet added to the firefox version of Open-in-vlc, that's why i prefer to wait for the new version of Open in vlc, , so i tried with the preview video feature of cat catch (cat catch is recently updated for firefox) with vlc and poplayer and preview video with vlc with cat catch works with complex hls videos while it is impossible to preview same video with Open-in-vlc and cat-catch in a chromium browser in some sites !!!!
I'm talking about some streaming sites that apparently add protections and block Open-in-vlc and Cat catch on chromium browsers, so firefox seems more powerful than chrome and maybe has less limitations than chromium and so we can preview hls videos from our favorite streaming sites with firefox and cat-catch preview feature !!
on the other hand preview video with potplayer does not work in cat catch in firefox, it only works with vlc, so our hope please is to bring the new referrer and user agent string changes to the firefox version of Open-in-vlc so that we can test the new version and because firefox is better than chromium to preview streaming video with vlc, and we also hope for support for preview video with potplayer, maybe by changing settings in about-config, thank you very much :)
If firefox store takes a long time to review or blocks the new version, we hope please an independent xpi version of our beloved Open-in-vlc outside the firefox store so no more need for the agreement of the firefox store to install the new versions and we avoid possible censorship, thank you very much!
i love potplayer and i ask for support potplayer in firefox extension because my eee pc has a small screen and vlc shows me black bars in the streaming video and I tried everything all the tricks settings , I can't remove the black bars in vlc except by zooming which deletes part of the video while potpayer manages and succeeed to stretch the video and remove the black bars without bad zooming which deletes part of the video, so it's vital for us please to use potplayer .....
