Not a bug :
Account ID is not written in the good format :

Should be :
<sip:username@webcalldirect.com>
or
Your display name <sip:username@webcalldirect.com>

< and > are important. In next release i'll try to implement something to check
account id and registration uri validity. But for now as it's a alpha there is
not
yet this feature in wizards.
Note that your configuration is compatible with the alcatel lucent wizard.

Following your instruction, I get a request timeout by registration. I have
tried to
increase time before timeout, but no success.

Timeout in expert wizard correspond to re-registration timeout.

Timeout error after it tries to register probably means something goes wrong
with
connection to the server.

* Are you using wifi or 3G connection? Some mobile operators, (in France that's
the
case of the 2 carriers) prevent from using VoIP on their data network (not only
in
their contract but also in their firewall).
* If you use wifi, are you sure a pc on the same network can register to your
sip
server (dns resolution, firewall etc etc)?

You can try to re-register just by checking/unchecking the box, but if
everything are
ok, the application will automatically detect when you are connected.
Note also that there is options in Settings to enable/disable wifi/3G
connection type
to use VoIP. If your carrier doesn't allow you to use their network for voIP,
both 3G
checkboxes must be unchecked.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually I have no problem with the same
configuration in
Sipdroid or SipAgent, either with 3G or wifi. So basically it shouldn't be a
connection problem.

Ok, really strange.

You can try either :
* Replace sip:webcalldirect.com by sip:77.72.169.9

* Try to use the Alcatel wizard.
    Phone number field is username
User login is authentification login (i think that for your configuration it's
the same that username)).
SIP domain, in your case webcalldirect.com
Server : (can be blank, webcalldirect.com or 77.72.169.9)

If it still doesn't work, i would be interested if you can produce some log
(using
logcollector for example).

Thanks for the report

The latest version bring a lot of improvements with account management. (There
is
also a Basic wizard that should simplify the configuration for you). If you
want to
use CSipSimple with a 3G connection (and that your carrier allow you to), don't
forget to go in Options > Network and check the two 3G boxes.

Let me know if it solves the problem for you.

I have been able to configure my webcalldirect account.
Yet, if I try to place a call in Switzerland, I get an operator message
basically
saying 'the line is blocked for outgoing, except for emergency calls' ???

Further I haven't been able to figure how to configure the caller id for
outgoing calls.

I'm not sure but I think that CallerID can be set using the expert wizard. In
the
account Id if you fill "CallerID <sip:username@domain>" it should set the
caller id
to CallerID.

For the issue with the operator message I don't know. Do you think it could be
linked
to the missing of the caller ID? I think that if it works both with SipDroid and
SipAgent there is probably something that miss in my configuration (all the
more so
as SipAgent use the same stack that I use).

I have to investigate a little bit more this point for caller ID. So i'll open
a new
issue for that point.
Keep me informed for the issue with your operator (if trying to set the
callerid in
expert wizard solves something - if so I think that i'll add an "Advanced"
wizard
without all the params of the expert but with some additional fields).

Regarding operator message, it was totally my fault, I had been given an unvalid
number to call. I am deeply sorry for that!

Ok, good news :)

Many thanks for your tests.

P.S. : If your phone is not yet in the list
http://code.google.com/p/csipsimple/wiki/SupportedDevices do not hesitate to
add a
comment (or let me know and i'll add it to "supported devices" at least
regarding the
native stack, if it's android 1.5 there is a lot of known issues but if you can
place
a call I consider that a device is supported)

I also have connection problems with viva.gr.

Initially I setup the account and was working perfectly. However, the last 15
days get request timeout. Something is wrong either with viva or csipsimple

@patron & @michalis : the latest dev versions will really improve this problem.
It's maybe not yet fully stable but you could test and tell me how it goes.

The more feedback I have on nightly builds the quicker updates will be pushed
on the market.

Hi, i just buy a Samsung GT-S5830L android 2.2 phone an i'd like to use
csipsimple but i cant get the phone registered.

These are all the structure setting that my provider gave me and works in a
symbian phone:

Profile: ABC VoIP
Service profile: IETF
Default access point: WLAN
Public user name: sips:jhondoe@abc.com
Use compression: No
Registration: when needed
Use security: No

Proxy server address: sips:192.222.222.222
Realm: abc.com
User name: jhondoe@abc.com
Password: 12345
Allow loose routing: Yes
Transport type: Automatic
Port: 5061

Registrar address: sips:abc.com
Realm: abc.com
User Name: jhondoe@abc.com
Password: 12345
Transport type: Automatic
Port: 5061

And this is how i configured in csipsimple expert wizard:

Account Name: ABC VoIP
Account Id: jhondoe@abc.com <sips:jhondoe@abc.com> (tried as well
jhondoe@abc.com <sip:jhondoe@abc.com>)
Registration URI: sips:abc.com (tried as well sip:abc.com[:5061])
REalm: abc.com
username(login) jhondoe@abc.com
data (password): 12345
transport: Auto
Proxy URI: sips:192.222.222.222 (tried as well sip:192.222.222.222[:5061])

What am i doing wrong? Anyone can help me with the correct settings?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds you need a TLS build. SIPS (sip over ssl) protocol need TLS to be
supported by the application.

For now the trunk version (the one distributed on the market), does not support
TLS (cause the app is bigger with this feature enabled and most users does not
need it).

You can get a TLS build here :
