No ability to disable tracks sync once enabled

The vision of Shuffle / Tracks sync is awesome. Execution is still very
rough and it continues to get in the way for lots of users as can be seen
here. 

May I suggest a prioritised feature to simply switch off tracks
integration? RIght now if you try and remove details or enter bogus ones it
fails and doesn't let you exit the screen.  In my account ('julian') the
delete sync is only one way -- items deleted on my phone are 'restored'
again from the server when it syncs so I want to remove the server-side
sync as its just broken.

I'm not a big fan of the blocking call each time you save prefs either.
In your case, you can turn off auto sync by setting the scheduled synching 
period to Never.

Yes I saw this later -- I'd like to rename this issue:

"having a simple check box to say 'Sync with Tracks' that enables / disables 
sync
features is a lot easier to discover than hiding under scheduling period which 
many
will simply miss"
