Tracks sync: can't disable if server unreachable

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Configure sync server and sync frequency
2.Make server unreachable
3.Open sync config activity and disable auto sync

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The sync activity should disable the auto-sync, but it refuses because the 
server is unreachable.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.5 on android 2.1

Please provide any additional information below.

My tracks server is in a Lan. The issue happens when the lan is unreachable 
(leaving wifi range)

I noticed this while I was out of country a few weeks ago. I'll I agree you 
definitely need to be able to turn off auto sync while offline.
