Vitalist looks a fairly decent GTD site with a nice REST API

I'm not sure if RTM is in the GTD arena, but they also have a nice API with
REST.

RTM is great, but sadly they don't follow GTD.

Google tasks, are now useable integrated into Google Calendar:
http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/tasks-now-in-calendar-too.html
For heavy google calendar user, this could be also an alternate view to shuffle.
So sync to Google tasks, could be also fine.

I would LOVE sync to Google Tasks. I'm apparently the only person in the
universe who's not an RTM fan.

Google tasks would fit well in a much Google-powered mobile OS.They also allow
projects and manual sorting, which RTM doesn't (to my experience). I would vote
for
1) Google tasks or 2) Create one from scratch. I would happily pay a couple of
bucks
a year for the service, but would the pro client program be open-sourced? Too
many a
loved apps have gone abandoned in the past with no source for someone else to
pick up
(see palm task manager ;( ). How about using the same free client but charging
for
the sync service? I would happily go with that too.

I would prefer a site built from scratch that would emulate the Shuffle app's
functionality. I'd be against a fee, but if there was a donate link, I'm sure
I
wouldn't be the only one to thank you for your work.
As mentioned before, RTM is nice, but not GTD.

I vote for import before sync. I've got all my tasks in Toodledo, which has
contexts, but not projects.
Would love to just get 'em in here the first time.

Either Google Tasks or RTM. I'd like to try it with Google Tasks for a change,
especially given that it's integration with GMail and Google Calendar is very
simple
and lightweight.

I vote for Toodledo for sync. Seems like it is second preference to RTM to
many. But os my first choice.
They have a published API as well. Thanks for your work!

If my assumption is correct below, I'd then vote for RTM and get '2 for 1' in
the
process.
If you check out this RTM page (http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/) you
can
see that they've been working to integrate RTM in a number of other services
(Netvibes, twitter, etc.). Of particular interest to this discussion are RTM's
links
to Google Gmail, Gears, Calendar, & iGoogle gadget. Might it be possible to
piggyback these efforts (and lessen your own) by integrating/syncing with RTM
with
the intent of not just satisfying the RTM folks here, but also linking with the
Google services via RTM.
That way the initial need (of being able to sync to a website) would be met in
a
fairly comprehensive way, while still keeping options open down the road for
creating a more direct, focuses link to Google. That way next effort might be
focused on the next priority feature - which, for me personally, would be easy
import/export.
Thanks for your efforts
Cheers
Bill

Count one more vote for Toodledo. It seems that the only program that syncs to
both
(toodo) is not active since cupcake came out. The other Android task manager
that
syncs (astrid) only syncs to RTM.
Looking forward to this feature.
Thanks

I tried RTM with some other task app and don't use it, anymore. Just another
Website
to use, with not special benefit (for me).
On the other hand, (almost) every Android user will have a google account,
synced
calendar and use google on a daily basis. So, for me, it's quite obvious which
would
have the greatest benefit.

A generic CalDAV sync would be useful for future apps, I think - Google Tasks
will
probably use it, as soon as they get around to supporting the VTODO part of the
standard!

Shuffle is the best GTD-based app I've used. And I've tried them all. I'd also
pay

I vote for import as well. I have my tasks in RTM and would like to move them to
Shuffle but I don't want to retype them. 300+ entries. blech.

A few words to RTM:
- RTM has now its own app in the market, which is quite good, so I guess it
will be
very hard to attract a lot of RTM users.
- If you want to sell shuffle in the market, you also have to pay for the RTM
API
Therefore I vote for Google Tasks (for Google Apps)

i vote for toodelo and google task. the problem with with RTM is that is
doesn't allow the same functionality of
shuffle such as subtask. Also a custom site that syncs with .ical would also be
good. Thanks!

Google Tasks would be my preference. At the moment I actually use my own set of
plain-text files, but I would be happy to start using Google Tasks, a dedicated
Shuffle application, or some other package, if it synchronised nicely with
Shuffle on
my phone.
Just as important is the ability to export task lists in a human-readable
format, and
it would be nice if Shuffle could do this directly, but I'm not sure it's worth
a
separate ticket at the moment.

I really like this app but I haven't begin using it yet because I don't want to
retype everything. Adding tasks can be a little difficult on MT3G because of
the tiny
keyboard but it would cool to allow import or sync to google task ...How is
GTask
doing it...

would be
better than going to another site since I use Google calendar already. I bought
the
MyTouch because it is integrated into Google because I am a Google purist.
Don't mess
it up by syncing with something else.
