BACKUP WILL NTO RESTORE! #205

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Restore from SD Card

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to get back my massive To-Do list with Action items. Instead, all I
get are the Contexts and Projects, all of which are blank. The error message
is "Restore failed null"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Shuffle 1.6.3 on Android 2.2 for Droid X

Please provide any additional information below.
I am LIVID. I had to restore from a backup since a Tracks sync failed miserably
and wiped out everything. Now the Restore won't work either

Sorry to hear that. If you don't mind sending me the backup file I can see
what's going wrong. We should be able to restore the contents.

This is a completely valid bug. I am having the same problem. I lost my
database, and I cannot restore my backup file. It also does not seem to be in
a readable format, so my todos seem to be completely lost. I have uninstalled
Shuffle for now, but I would greatly appreciate help recovering the data as
well. When trying to recover, I get a "null" error box. I don't know if I can
send you my database as is - it has proprietary data. If you are willing to
fix this, perhaps I can edit the file with a hex editor to have "xxxx" data or
somesuch.

It's using google protocol buffers. You should be able to void the data (keep
string lengths the same) and still have the file valid. If you do that, I can
take a look.
