[Rooted] Nook SImple Touch - Crash after selecting ROMs path

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install any version of Mame for Android and launch app.
2. select default OR any ROMs path
3. Crash

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Rom selection screen is expected after selecting ROMs path. I see the app close 
and take me back to my app drawer.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Rooted Nook Simple Touch (don't laugh!) Android (not sure which version). Many 
other emus and apps work fine, FPSE, Gendroid, Snesoid, GBCoid, Nesoid, just 
not Mame... 

Please provide any additional information below.

I have this emulator running fine on other devices, just not the Nook. I would 
like to have Zaxxon back :)
