I don't know if it is anything I am doing..But no matter what combination of audio inputs and outputs I try..The user I screen share to still doesn't hear audio.

Any help or extra input? Idk if I am even choosing the proper options.

Option 1 of install:

Audio output found -
1) alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo
2) alsa_output.usb-Kingston_HyperX_Cloud_Alpha_S_000000000001-00.analog-stereo
3) MicPlusGame
4) GameOnly

Chose: 2

Option2 of install:

Audio input found -
1) alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo.monitor
2) alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo
3) alsa_output.usb-Kingston_HyperX_Cloud_Alpha_S_000000000001-00.analog-stereo.monitor
4) alsa_input.usb-Kingston_HyperX_Cloud_Alpha_S_000000000001-00.mono-fallback
5) MicPlusGame.monitor
6) GameOnly.monitor

Chose: 4

Option to share audio from:

Discord
org_kde_powerdevil (No idea)
pactl (pulse audio control)
plasmashell (terminal)
vivaldi-bin (my browser with youtube playing)

Chose: vivaldi-bin

Did you have your microphone set to your HyperX headphone's mic? Also, was there any output from the script other than numbers?

EDIT: Sorry for the late reply! Been busy with moving back to college ;-;

In discord? yes. Audio input and output is set to my headset. (even though I don't have the mic attached to the headset) My laptop auto sets input and output to my headset when I plug it in via usb with the audio control.

As for the numbers, That is a direct copy and paste of my terminal and what it was showing me. Besides the printed questions about choosing an input and output. After I selected the options during install, it finished up and that was it.

Did you run the command discordaudioshare on a terminal while on the call or did you take a different approach? The command is meant to be a toggle to enable and disable sharing cuz we figured that you might not want to share ur desktop audio all the time

therealOri commented 2 years ago

I have indeed done that in a call multiple times with many of the different options selected during "install". I select vivaldi-bin to share audio from and I hear what sounds like a jingle or sound. But no matter how many times I run that command or press the buttons used as a shortcut. Still no audio.

Idk if I'm not selecting the right options during install, or if there is something to do with my headset being used, idk.

@therealOri Doesdiscordaudioshare on terminal show no error messages?

Once you run discordaudioshare and select an application, can you list all the sources in pulseaudio using the following and post the output here?

pactl list short sources

This should display 2 additional sources namely GameOnly and MicPlusGame

No, it doesn't throw errors.

Here is what is shown for my outputs/inputs. image

I have vivaldi running (youtube music) and am in a discord voice call. I also don't have my headset plugged in (hyperX options). For the install.sh I selected the alsa input and output.
