1 year ago I think lighting is block-based currently, and for this to be fixable it'd have to propagate per-vertex. I'll take a look anyway though.

1 year ago Just chiming in here that it gets REALLY ugly when you have a lot of chiseled blocks close together, and it's specific to sunlight and block light.
Here's a view of a doorway surrounded by chiseled blocks, first while holding a light in my hand:
And here's the same doorway without a light in my hand. There are lights placed nearby, so it should be lit:
This is in 1.18.10, btw.

Description
It's an old bug but it never got better. There are always this problems when you use chissels block, staires or slaps!
in the picture there is roof on the outside of course!
