Water bleeds through slab blocks #2998

Game Version

1.18.8

Platform

Windows

Modded

Vanilla

SP/MP

Singleplayer

Description

While building I noticed that if you place slab blocks for a roof and then pour water into them, then the slab blocks will have a kind of watery color when looked at from below. I've attached screenshots demonstrating this.

In the first picture, I have disabled all mods. In the second picture, I have this shader mod enabled: https://mods.vintagestory.at/volumetricshadingcontinued - with the shader the effect may be more pronounced. ~Also, you will notice that rain splashes seem to bleed through slabs as well~ This is caused by the shader, does not happen with it disabled. The right side of the roof is cobblestone block, not slab, and thus does not have water on it - it is meant as a reference.

This happened for me on both 1.18.8 rc.1 and on the new, stable 1.18.8 - did not test on prior versions. Only tested with granite cobblestone slabs and peridotite cobblestone slabs.

Happens in both survival and creative.

How to reproduce

  1. Construct any simple building where you can place a flat roof on top.
  2. Place slab blocks laying flat for the roof.
  3. Pour water on top of the slab blocks.
  4. Look at the slabs from the bottom (opposite side of the water).

I'll add to this: it happens on the sides of chiseled blocks as well. Picture: image. I'm on windows, version 1.18.8 as well.
