very valid concern, but no idea how to address this properly at this point in time
i undestand, But i think something like this mod does should work : https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/2323. Maybe an option only for survival wilderness servers, when a player logoff a ghost of the player will spawn and stay for X seconds. If the client player crash then the ghost don't appear.
I know a lot of players usings this trick... They see a bear then logoff/in and doing the same in cave. Its a huge game breaking in survival wilderness.
Fascinating. That does look like a potential mitigation, but only for those X seconds. After that you have the same problem. Better than nothing though, I suppose
Combined with a random cool down before ennemies despawn betwen 5 - 15 minutes this will discourage players doing the trick ?

Description
When you play SSP if you log out / in enemies wont despawn, when you play SMP if you log out / in all enemies despawn. Also a lot of players use this trick to clear all enemies. I think it should be an option to be able to prevent that! I talked about it with some dev they told me to create a post here.
