could you throw together some patch notes outlining the changes made from patch to patch so the users could have some insight as to your priorities and interests, and i personally would find them interesting

Actually its already there (shows in log console after update, once), but it disappears quickly. You could possibly also browse commits, I try to keep their descriptions informative.

i like the new way of doing it, with a blurb at the top on sign-in. it might sound crazy but i would actually read it :)

Good. I'll try to make it human-readable with the next release. Also, there are always commit descriptions in the source repo.
