Who am I?

Mention:

• Prefered work environment: I prefer to work from home, but love group discussions where coworkers share their thoughts and experiences. My ideal workweek is when I can work from home with 1-2 days visiting the office or coworking space for updates and project discussions.

• Location: I am from beautiful Stockholm, Sweden and I'm currently based here as well. Previously (before having kids in the compulsory education age), I've lived in Kampala, Uganda and Mecca, Saudi Arabia. As for now, in most cases, I'm not open to relocating for a job.

• About me personally: Describe my personality. Use the 16-personalities for inspiration but e.g. I'm a positive person to the core, always eager to learn and improve. Be kind, have empathy, respect differings. Everything is about collaboration and caring. Choose growth opportunities to learn, to grow new skills. I'm a curious human, passionate about science always asking questions, formulating a hypothesis, and running experiments. I am a ... student but that does not say anything special about me. I don't believe in acronyms, I believe in people. I have met many brilliant people without a degree, and many people of various degrees without creativity, empathy, or work ethic. I love the thought to give without expecting a return. Every single one of us meets people every day, some of them we'll help, support, influence, and encourage without even thinking about it. Those influences might change lives.

• About me, professionally: Programming stacks I master and other experience I have. When it comes to teamwork I value trust and respect. I believe that diversity of views and perspectives sets the boundaries forward and makes it possible to consider different angles. Please note that all professional agreements will need to adhere to the rules of inclusion. I do not speak at conferences or meetups that does not have a Code of Conduct. I have great respect for good documentation, that's why I take an extra step by the level of care and effort for each article, tutorial, quickstart, reviews, etc before it's published to production. It's a commitment to empathy and respect; welcoming people at whatever level they are at. In my opinion, documentation is necessary but should be kept straightforward and easy to navigate.

Angelica Lovisa Hjelm Gardner (born 1989) is a Swedish businesswoman, computer scientist, investor, and writer. She is focusing on machine learning and AI.

Gardner was born in Sweden in 1989. Her parents are both Swedish, but her paternal grandfather is an immigrant from the United Kingdom. Growing up in Stockholm, she graduated from Frans Schartaus Gymnasium in 2008.

In 2020, she earned her undergraduate degree with a major in computer science from Linnaeus University in Växsjö, Sweden graduating at the top of her class. []

In 2022 Gardner earned her master’s degree from Linnaeus University. []

She currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2011, she married Najib Karrouk, and in December 2011, they had their first child, Abdellah. []

I think of myself as the T-shaped individual (Full Stack Engineer) - someone who has deep knowledge in one area but knows enough about the breadth of the other technical areas to understand how they interact with the whole.

Tidy and organized space is always good for your brain, it's fewer distractions around you and you feel good/motivated in your space.

Jag som skriver bloggen är en docent i historia, småbarnsförälder, magicspelare och Lundabo. I januari 2013 disputerade jag i historia vid Lunds universitet på avhandlingen Vårt eget fel. Samma år fick jag och min fru vårt första barn. Två år senare föddes vårt andra.

I boken "Ett år av akademiskt skrivande" nämner författaren David Larsson Heidenblad att det är "ovanligt med kvinnliga historiker som skriver - eller rättare sagt publicerar - andraböcker. Särskilt gäller detta kvinnor med barn under 10 år."
