The use of custom menus (r204) can get around this but it's a lot of work. The
user needs to know the specific URLs for the comments by section/user/general
and build the URLs into the menu in addition to adding their new pages.
It would be useful if new pages could be added which worked without using the
custom menu builder, just as they did in v2. This would satisfy a lot of
people's needs without needing to mess around with custom menus.

there is a new option in the backend called "Show Pages in Menu"

Thanks, Can you turn it on by default? It would help with upgrades where
existing v2 sites are using pages. I'm not sure why this is even an option.

Also, this new option shows the 'about' page in the menu, when before it was
hidden if used as the front page, I think???
