According to Joss Winn's quick test, the wp-footnotes plugin "almost" works 
with digress.it v3.1.1

Joss also mentioned that pasting footnoted text from OpenOffice, rather than 
Word, currently works in digress.it, which I did not realize. (Is it possible 
to do this from Word -- or not?)

Smooth and easy transfer of writing with footnotes is important to me and other 
scholarly authors. Is this possible to achieve this goal with digress.it?
