Navigation sidebar could show more useful content in closed position #73

In its closed position, the navigation sidebar could show readers more useful 
information. Currently, v3 shows the number of comments, which appear somewhat 
random and may confuse the reader (see http://b3ta.jiscpress.org/lipsum/). 
Contrast with v2.4 Candide, where the closed navigation sidebar shows all 
section numbers, with the current section outdented 
(http://candide.nypl.org/text/chapter-7).

this is now supported in r101. better styling is needed.
