FTK Imager - Licencing Clarification #4

Need to clarify the free and fair use licence based on

Where Can I download the FTK Forensic Toolkit and FTK Imager?

Access Data has made both FTK and FTK Imager available for download for free, albeit with a caveat. While the FTK Imager can be used for free indefinitely, FTK only works for a limited amount of time without a license. You can also order a demo from Access Data. In any case, you can find both of them on Access Data’s official downloads page. Before you order yourself FTK, though, do note that the requirements of the specification to run FTK are nothing to sneeze at; you better make sure you have the hardware to run it at its full clip.

FTK Imager is a free tool. You can get a copy from the link here: https://accessdata.com/product-download/ftk-imager-version-4-3-1-1. Once you click on the link, you will see a registration form. Please fill out the form with your contact details and our marketing team will send you a copy of the download link once verification.

Dev notes

Working with the vendor to see if unnatended installation is possible without registering.

Until clarified, it will remain removed in its current state

Vendor Update

Cannot include the package for an unattended installation. You can install from the downloaded application after somone has filled out the form for marketing

Dev Notes

Will look at including an option to go to the FTK Website, fill in the relevant form, and download the file from the users email, with an option toskip.

This option will move to a later version

Will include a link for a user to manually go through and install the software after the automated software has been installed, as it requires registration with the vendor.
