Bad colors on Gnome dark mode #237

The interface isn't quiet readable for gnome3 users with dark mode enable, but it's a little better when not focusing on the ipscan window

I just updated to this version : image Sorry, without window focus it's a bit readable, here is the screenshot : image

Is it possible to have (at least) the choice by an option in preferences to switch theme ?

I saw in other issues that the java version can be an issue, so here is my java version : image

This is with Gnome dark mode on Ubuntu 20.04. I am pretty sure the issue is with your GTK theme, which one is it?

angryziber commented 4 years ago

Please also try installing OpenJDK 11, just in case.

I have checked also with Adwaita-dark theme - everything looks good. I can reproduce a similar problem only when changing to dark theme while Angry IP Scanner is already running. Once restarted, it will read the current theme properly. Is this the case here?

FYI, ipscan uses SWT for its GUI and SWT supports GTK_THEME environment variable, so you can pass an alternative theme name if you like.

@angryziber After your comment I tested with all these different gnome3 shell themes :

None of them is working, even the Default gnome theme, with dark activated.

@angryziber ~Same issue with these gnome3 shell themes with Java11 instead of Java8~ → Sorry my bad, it's working fine with java11 ! Thank you for your help :)

angryziber commented 4 years ago

Interestingly, I cannot reproduce the problem with Java 8 (OpenJDK) provided by Ubuntu. Are you using Debian? Which version?

Experiencing the same with Ubuntu 20.04 (Plasma 5.18.4)

supercilios commented 4 years ago

Same here with Kubuntu 20.04 LTS with Plasma 5.18.5, OpenJDK14 and IPScan v3.7.2

My Fault ...Its Solved !

System Settings / Application Style / GNOME GTK Application Style Choose to match your current Desktop Theme !

Cheers

I think this issue can be closed, I don't have anymore the interface glitch which leads me to create this issue

RokeJulianLockhart commented 1 year ago

I suggest that it be closed.
