you require Catalina, so you need to actually state that requirement

Oh no! After all that work to maintain Yosemite compatibility. Last I checked the Github version of Spatterlight would run on 10.10, though the App Store version won't. I'll have to look into this.

EDIT: I just checked, and both the 0.8.9 version downloadable from here and a new build of the current Git master will run on 10.10.

ah ok, i read this

You need at least macOS 10.15 Catalina and Xcode 12 or later

as it requiring 10.15 to run. if thats not the case, lets close this :)

Right, that is not very clear, is it? Thanks for pointing it out.

As a matter of fact, it probably needs Xcode 13 and Big Sur to build these days, so the info should be updated anyway. Also, I'm reasonably sure that the App Store version will only run on 10.15 and later, so the build I upload there should have your change.
