4.0.0 Staging branch #165

Features set to be released in 4.0.0 will be merged, reviewed, and tested here.

@deini @derrickpelletier I'll be merging this in sometime next week and doing a full release. Any objections?

I have no objections. There'd be lacking documentation on how to use provideStore. I could resolve that if you want to make an issue.

Otherwise I guess the only problem is I haven't used the new change anywhere beyond my initial tests. However, we're about to put it into production (🤞).
