I know this isn't a huge deal with gzip compression, but it could still be improved. Here's a possible starting point if this is deemed worthy of improving: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/32098057/a-way-to-minify-or-uglify-es6-template-strings.
md-chips still appears to have excess whitespace that can't be minified in 1.1.12.
