fixing issue #7 on github #8

I merged this change locally and tried with various garmin activity IDs which were failing with the "1 is smaller than the minimum (3): number of points (1)" error. Unfortunately, they all still fail.

Thanks for trying to fix it though. The code for this project is a horrible mess, I'm hoping to re-write a lot of it soon.

I am sorry, I don't have a lot of test data :( I will have a second look to see what else may be the root cause. If you need help with the re-write, I am willing to help too :)
