suddenly roms are choppy and crackling

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load snes droid
2. Load any rom
3. Game plays every time, but is choppy and crackly

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Roms were running flawlessly for about 3 weeks. Then there was an update and 
now the games are crackly and choppy. I have tried setting frameskip to 0. It 
helps, but it is still aweful to play.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Snesdroid 1.4.2.
Samsung Galaxy S3  Android ver. 4.0.4

Please provide any additional information below.
Please help! It was a great emulator, and i really would like to continue using 
it!

Exactly the same issue and conditions.  I hope you can figure this out, cuz I'm 
stumped!
