SMS Popup showing up prior to security enabled lockscreen #349

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Put the device in locked state
2. Send an SMS to the device
3. The popup shows up prior to the device lockscreen, compromising the security
provided by the lockscreen.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The screen should turn on with the notification icon on the upper left corner,
like it does normally, but the user should be presented with the lock screen
before he's able to reply or even read the text. Presently, the popup shows up
before the lockscreen and anybody with the phone can reply to/ delete or simply
read the text.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I'm using version 1.2.4 on Cyanogen Mod 9 nightly build 20120531 for Galaxy S2
i9100.

Please provide any additional information below.

It would be nice to have it as an option to show it after forcing device
unlock, for security enabled lockscreen, and no compromising the convenience to
other users (who have a lockscreen sans security).

Is this guy even developing anymore?

There may be little need to develop it, as CM10 and CM10.1 have a similar
"Quick Message" feature which happens to be inbuilt.

Personally I've been using the same ever since.

Personally I do not consider this as a bug rather as a FEATURE.

I was looking for months to find out the app that will offer SMS popup
OVERRIDING lock screen.

I have a corporate phone with a very strict security policy (pin code locked,
minimum timeout), so my screen is getting locked pretty fast.
At the same time I'm getting many SMS messages and it's annoying to enter pin
codes eveytime I need to read them (not reply).

The other added value - if you will loose your phone and if the one who will
find it will be ready to return it, it will be much easier to send him/her an
SMS with contact details (he/she will see it despite of the lock screen
activated)

Again, thanks to developer, I like the way it deals with popups now (SGS3,
4.1.2)
Hopefully it will remain the same (otherwise there's a little value of having
an SMS popup if you will be aked to unlock the screen everytime)

However, if this could be controlled as an extra option - fine, just do not
remove the way it works now please.

For the Samsung Galaxy S5 it appears to already work this way (you must unlock
the screen before seeing any SMS) which as a previous comment indicates is very
annoying when you receive tons of messages. Can you please make this an option
so we can turn it off? Thanks.
