RFC 8995 calls it "PKIX-shaped certificate" and here it is "PKIX certificate" - is there any difference intended in these terms?
Maybe the "shaped" is used to signify that these certs may be used privately outside of the PKI of the internet. They just inherit all the format conventions of PKIX certificates without necessarily being integrated into the PKI maybe.
