I've tried to clean up the README.md a little to get a bit more traction on updates and input.

Hopefully it's in-line with what you imagined, I don't want to step on any toes.

I'm happy to look into more issues too in the coming days. Is there anything high-priority worth looking into?

Happy to do any changes to this PR, too.
