Vacor's ring(s) #168

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
None since the bug fix resolved the Great Vacor from returning from the dead.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
That the bug fix would have addressed Vacor's former possessions allowing you
to keep 1 pair of his boots. As I had put an end to him 3 times, 1 ring was
accepted as proof, leaving the 2 others in my possession or wherever I drop
them in the game. I kept 1 pair of boots to wear and sold the other 2.

What version of the product are you using? On what device?
0.6.8 on the Motorola Droid (OS 2.2.1).

I'm not sure I understand your bugreport. What is the perceived problem? What
steps do you do to cause the behaviour?

Remember the quest where you have two choices to complete it; either kill all
the thieves or kill Vacor? If the player's choice was to kill Vacor, and you
did so, he would be found again later in his usual hangout. This allowed you to
kill him countless times. Each time you did, you would receive his ring and
boots. You later fixed this bug regarding his respawning. What remains to be
fixed is the issue of his dropped loot. You can sell his extra boots in a shop,
but any additional rings (other than the one the thief accepts as proof of
Vacor's death) remains in your inventory as a quest item that is unsellable in
any shop. You can drop any additional rings in your inventory anywhere in the
game, but will always remain in a loot bag wherever you leave it as it seems to
be recorded in the game save file.

So this is not possible to reproduce?
It only affects your savegame where a previous beta version allowed multiple
quest items to be obtained?

I would say that's a fair summary. I reported the issue out of concern as to
what impact or outcome having 2 of Vacor's rings in my inventory or floating
around in another map section might have on a future quest that might reference
Unzel, Vacor, the rift spell, etc.

You should have no problems with future parts of the game.
