"Hit and run" tactic #177

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
The flee mechanics can be abused to give yourself several free attacks in a row.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Attack a monster, using a 4AP knife, or any equipment allowing you to both
attack and flee during your turn
2. Flee one space away from monster
3. immediately return and attack monster again

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When used against monsters from whom you can easily flee (i.e. gargoyles), you
can get several free attacks in a row. Sometimes the monster will get the first
hit, and sometimes you will fail to flee, but in general this tactic seems to
be more effective than straight combat.
(I am not sure if some monsters are harder to flee from than others, but that
was the impression that I got)

What version of the product are you using? On what device?
6.8 incredible

Please provide any additional information below.
This might not be too bad, seeing as it's not as much of a cheat as abusing the
quick save feature, but I thought I'd post it.

It would be great if some battles, like bosses, could prevent the flee action.

If difficulty modes are introduced, which I am against, then maybe flee action
could be prevented on a global scale.
