Kavita, Komga, LANraragi, and Suwayomi extensions

Steps to reproduce

Wants API key, POD something, logins, etc. on individual extension settings.

Expected behavior

Kavita site shows special function available for Tachiyomi that doesn't reqire this. Presume other 3 are similar. [https://wiki.kavitareader.com/en/guides/misc/tachiyomi]

This screen only exists on Tachiyomi, not TachiyomiSY or Aniyomi.

Actual behavior

Nothing much. Without these APIs and such, searches return essentially timeouts, no credentials, etc for the 4 extensions.

Similarly, manga sources can't be migrated.

Ik, i checked. But the documentation has a lot of screenshots. Specify the missing one you're talking about.

Ah hell. It was the Kavita dashboard.

I've bypassed the problem. Since no more official manga repos exist except those, I did what I had to do, and went to the dark side of repos.

You can close this as not resolved or whatever because I still haven't come across a solution for the official ones and it's not going any better on the TachiyomiSY side of GitHub either.

Using Kavita as an example, you seem to need a fixed IP on your home Internet which will probably cost you a 3rd party service, then set up a server on it. From there, create a Kavita account, users, etc. Then install Tachiyomi official for an API key and POD thing. Then recreate your collection in Tachiyomi. Then you can use it on Tachiyomi forks to import that data. Simple, right? And that's just one of the four. All of them are set up differently.

Or I'm completely mistaken but I haven't found any other answers even after deep digging.

The anime side continues to work beautifully, and the upgrade went well once I ignored the manga side, understood the storage changes and came up with some out-of-the-box solutions.

Maybe it'll just be simplest to discontinue the manga portion of Aniyomi since the issues indicate far fewer people use it, although I do, and push it onto the forks specifically for manga. The original Aniyomi backups seem to restore fine in them. MangaDLR split off their anime side for simplicity.

I'll just go with this and move on until it's resolved. Until then, I'll just monitor the devs for solutions with my piehole shut from now on.

Just a small hint for everyone looking for a solution to this. you don't need a fixed IP, if you want to access it from the outside of your home network. Just use a VPN to connect to your router and you have access to every device at home even if you're currently at the end of the world ;) I use Wireshark for this purpose, since FritzBox implemented it's support.

As for closing this Issue, you can close it by yourself @JackDSRS :)
