Why/User Benefit/User Problem

If a streaming or casting feature was implemented for the anime sections, it would allow users to view and watch the shows with their friends and family, especially for those without android. This would make the app more accessible and more known as the apple community could benefit too.

What/Requirements

Not entirely sure on the requirements, nor the best method to have it happen. I know with Chromecast, the app has to be registered with google, but if there was a way to bypass that or have another method to stream it, that would be awesome. Regarding how it would view, obviously that would be based on the one developing it, but I feel like the easiest might be how youtube streams, meaning once you pull up the video, you have an option to connect to said TV and can control it all from the phone without a need for remote control features.

Recently I found you can open anime into different apps like your gallery or Google photos. I open it into VLC player and from there you can cast to your TV which is pretty neat workaround for what you're looking for, and VLC has a feature rich player which is another plus.

I can't cast from VLC. The cast button doesn't show up. Maybe because it only works on Chromecast devices.

An alternative that worked for me is Web Video Caster which can also be integrated into an Android app like Aniyomi. The downside is that it requires a proprietary app to be installed. It does work with major receivers such as DLNA, Chromecast, Apple TV etc.

Saikou(another anime streaming app) already has it integrated and can be enabled from the settings.

Ideally, I think it has to be FOSS like dlna-cast but this can work for now.

This is something that would be incredibly beneficial to have within Aniyomi. VLC on mobile is a little shameful in just how bad it is.

I much prefer the Aniyomi player, minus this one missing feature 😢

Is there a plan to add this featur at some point?, I know that CloudStream have casting within their own media player, so there's a precedent for open sources app doing it, but guessing it's harder than it looks

PD: just asking because I love this app too much, and this one feature is game changing in my opinion

I would also love for this to be a feature

This would be such a great feature indeed!

2/3 of the extensions I'm using arent able to use vlc as external player to cast the video, and the issues in the extension repo doesn't seem to move pretty much

Any updates on this? I saw that a fork already has it https://github.com/Dark25/Animetail2
