Lag when reviewing cards on custom Android 12 ROM

Reproduction Steps

Hello

I hope you are well.

I upgraded to a custom Android 12 ROM on my Samsung S10e. My phone is now much snappier and faster - however there is a huge lag when reviewing cards. When I click show answers, and then select again, hard, good or easy, there is no response for at least 5-10 seconds before going on to the next card. I tried disabling card hardware render in the settings, and that didn't fix the issue.

Really don't want to have to revert back to the stock ROM, as it's so much slower to use. Hoping there's something that can be done, or a fix I could implement?
