“Try using only lower case characters” makes no sense some of the time.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to translate a cromulent German word like “Verkehrsinsel”¹² to, say Japanese³
with the multimedia editor and glosbe.com

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

You should get a simple message that no translation was found. (Or, although that that
is not happening is more of a glosbe.com problem, the correct translation).
Instead you get a “no translation” toast *and* a toast “Try using only lower case characters”

Does it happen again every time you repeat the steps above? Or did it
happen only one time?

Every time (when Java thinks the lower case string is different from the search string)

Paste the "debug info" from the AnkiDroid "About" dialog below (see the
above help webpage for detailed instructions).

Tried with AnkiDroid 2.5alpha35.
As this is “working as designed” i won’t bother with the debug info.

Please provide any additional information below.

For German “verkehrsinsel” rather than “Verkehrsinsel” is just wrong.
As another example, translating “Hürde”⁴ from German into Japanese worked, correctly,
translating the misspelled “hürde” yielded no result, correctly, too.

For languages that do capitalize their nouns the message should not be shown at all.
I am unconvinced that it is smart to show this even for languages that don’t. What
about proper nouns.
