1 year ago Dark Reader can be made to have control of pages it wouldn't normally, and in firefox you can just remove the adddon page. in chrome there is a flag to enable extensins on special pages in the flags hidden experiments page chrome://flags
A workaround, for now. firefox doesn't whine at you when you edit the internal variables to let addons change mozilla pages and stuff. Chrome sorta does. Your milage may vary.

it's currently unwieldy to enable/disable Dark Mode in Readability. Also, the 'Dark Reader' extension (which makes all websites go dark at night) does not work in readability;
Please consider improving this, toggling 'Readabilty dark mode' with a toolbar button or a keyboard shortcut would already be a great improvement.
